I, somewhat abruptly, stopped a PhD program so that my wife and I could move to France. And, while we loved it there (and still do), there was a void left in my life which was once filled by mathematics.
Art photography has come to fill this void for me. The type of in-camera work I do forces me to combine technical acumen with abstract thought much in the same way math once did.
My passion for art and philosophy predates my passion for mathematics. That I should find a medium that has allowed me to realize these passions in a mentally engaging way makes me extremely fortunate.
